Dr Christopher Watson

Dr Watson is the academic lead of the Leeds Genomics Facility which is based in the Clinical Sciences Building on the St. James’s University Hospital site. He combines his work as an NHS Clinical Scientist with a longstanding research interest in the molecular genetics of human disease. This includes the use and clinical implementation of emerging DNA sequencing technologies. He has contributed to the identification of many novel disease genes and continues to develop assays and informatics workflows to identify sequence variants that are refractory to existing standard-of-care tests.
