Theoretical and Experimental Immunology

A two-day international workshop, (with two morning sessions followed by afternoon sessions with lunch), organisedby the BSI Mathematical Modelling Affinity Group and the British Society for Immunology.

The aim of this workshop is to bring together scientists working in the areas of experimental and theoretical immunology, to discuss current challenges on cancer and tumour immunology, virus evolution and immune escape, immune modelling in industry, chimeric receptors and reprogrammed blood cells, immune tolerance and autoimmunity, and immunology and ageing.

The main goals of the meeting will be:

1. to bring together researchers and clinicians from a variety of backgrounds to discuss the importance of modelling and mathematical approaches in Immunology
2. to encourage interdisciplinary(specifically mathematics and immunology) discussions in order to guide the development of new mathematical models, given the experimental and clinical data and
3. to expose post-graduate students, working in this area, to current immunological challenges and open questions.
